Earthguide Project

The joint student - mentor project between California Space Institute (CalSpace - Multi-campus Research Unit of the University of California), Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), and CaSGC over the past year developed a website called Earthguide. This allowed students to work with space and earth science content and education experts. Educators and scientists create an educational website that serves K-12, higher education, and the general public communities. Earthguide components are available on-line as a teacher resource. Material is suitable for use in courses on oceanography, geology, and environmental science.

One-hour hands-on learning experiences at Birch Aquarium at Scripps (BAS). Earthguide is partnering with BAS to test whether we can coordinate production of on-site K-12 education programs with educational websites. Pilot units include:
1. The Sun: A Perfect Fuel
2. Reading the Sediment Diaries: K/T Event
3. Living Without Light
4. Life in the California Current
