Tech Project
High
School and Middle School teachers participated in a 2-week
workshop to develop web-assisted science and math curriculum.
Some participants (students and teachers) were selected from
the Preuss University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Charter
School located on the UCSD campus. Students at the school
are all low-income as defined by the federal free and reduced
lunch program and represent the first in the family to go
to college. The Preuss School also served as a test site for
the developed curriculum.
The
overall program was funded as part of the educational outreach
of National Science Foundation (NSF). The CaSGC assists the
San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC - CaSGC affiliate) in
providing administrative services in interfacing with the
teacher participants. Also CaSGC interfaces with the Pruess
School for the curricular part of the projects.
