UC Santa Barbara
CalSpace Center for Remote Sensing for GIS
and Geography
Located on the UC campus with a nationally
distinguished record of environmental studies, the UCSB Center
focuses on interdisciplinary environmental research. Its research
encompasses the development of new applications for Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) by combining laboratory and field
data, as well as using remote sensing for geomorphic, ecological
and watershed analysis, wetland studies, and digital map production.
It houses the web-accessible Global River Floodplains Database,
a valuable tool for flood risk analysis and land use changes.
