CaSGC Aerospace
Workforce Development Opportunities
The California Space Grant Consortium (CaSGC), in association with the
California Space Grant Foundation (501(C)(3) educational non-profit
corporation), provides financial and management support to CaSGC
affiliate institutions for a number of aerospace workforce development
projects relating to "Human Capital" issues within NASA and the Nation.
These include educational, research, hands-on training, and outreach
projects that positively impact the aerospace workforce issues. Key
thrusts of the CaSGC workforce effort have focused on Student – Mentor
projects and student and faculty interchanges and cooperative
agreements with NASA Centers.
The CaSGC workforce program enables students of all ages to
learn in an interactive environment bringing together information
technologies and experienced mentors passing on their legacy to the
next generation of public servants, educators, writers, scientists,
engineers and business professionals. It also enables existing
communities of concerned citizens, government agencies, universities,
schools and companies to discover and nurture the very best of their
young people by providing sponsorships, participating in Space Grant
projects and joining us in our real world classrooms. The
community-based Student - Mentor Alliance model is pictured below.
