A major asset for the Space Grant program is its highly qualified cadre
of Space Grant consortia directors. Typically, Space Grant directors also
function at colleges or universities as faculty or administrators in science,
mathematics, engineering, or other NASA-related disciplines. These directors
and their associated faculty members contribute significant time, knowledge,
energy, and enthusiasm to the operation of Space Grant programs in their
states and regions. The success of the national program to date can be directly
attributed to the efforts of the university community, including the Space
Grant directors, faculty and staff members, and associated advisory or governing
boards.
